2016-03-15omap-common: clocks-common: Setup USB DPLL when MUSB is in usePaul Kocialkowski
On (at least) OMAP4, the USB DPLL is required to be setup for the internal PHY to work properly. The internal PHY is used by default with the MUSB USB OTG controller. Signed-off-by: Paul Kocialkowski <contact@paulk.fr>
2016-03-14ARM: OMAP4/5: Centralize early clock initializationKipisz, Steven
Early clock initialization is currently done in two stages for OMAP4/5 SoCs. The first stage is the initialization of console clocks and then we initialize basic clocks for functionality necessary for SoC initialization and basic board functionality. By splitting up prcm_init and centralizing this clock initialization, we setup the code for follow on patches that can do board specific initialization such as board detection which will depend on these basic clocks. As part of this change, since the early clock initialization is centralized, we no longer need to expose the console clock initialization. NOTE: we change the sequence slightly by initializing console clocks timer after the io settings are complete, but this is not expected to have any functioanlity impact since we setup the basic IO drive strength initialization as part of do_io_settings. 2015-06-15am33xx: Re-enable SW levelling for DDR2Tom Rini
The recent changes for hw leveling on am33xx were not intended for DDR2 boards, only DDR3. Update emif_sdram_type to take a sdram_config value to check against. This lets us pass in the value we would use to configure, when we have not yet configured the board yet. In other cases update the call to be as functional as before and check an already programmed value in. 2015-06-12ARM: DRA7: Add support for IO delay configurationLokesh Vutla
On DRA7, in addition to the regular muxing of pins, an additional hardware module called IODelay which is also expected to be configured. This "IODelay" module has it's own register space that is independent of the control module. It is advocated strongly in TI's official documentation considering the existing design of the DRA7 family of processors during mux or IODelay recalibration, there is a potential for a significant glitch which may cause functional impairment to certain hardware. It is hence recommended to do muxing as part of IOdelay recalibration. IODELAY recalibration sequence: - Complete AVS voltage change on VDD_CORE_L - Unlock IODLAY config registers. - Perform IO delay calibration with predefined values. - Isolate all the IOs - Update the delay mechanism for each IO with new calibrated values. - Configure PAD configuration registers - De-isolate all the IOs. - Relock IODELAY config registers. 2015-01-29ARM: OMAP5: DRA7xx: Add support for power rail groupingLubomir Popov
On the DRA72x (J6Eco) EVM one PMIC SMPS is powering three SoC core rails. This concept of using one SMPS to supply multiple core domains (in various, although limited combinations, per primary device use case) has now become common and is used by many customer J6/J6Eco designs; it is supported by a number of corresponding PMIC OTP versions. This patch implements correct operation of the core voltages scaling routine by ensuring that each SMPS that is supplying more than one domain shall be written only once, and with the highest voltage of those fused in the SoC (or of those defined in the corresponding header if fuse read is disabled or fails) for the power rails belonging to the group. The patch also replaces some PMIC-related magic numbers with the appropriate definitions. The default OPP_NOM voltages for the DRA7xx SoCs are updated as well, per the latest DMs. Signed-off-by: Lubomir Popov <l-popov@ti.com>

2013-05-10ARM: OMAP5: Fix warm reset with USB cable connectedLokesh Vutla
Warm reset on OMAP5 freezes when USB cable is connected. Fix requires PRM_RSTTIME.RSTTIME1 to be programmed with the time for which reset should be held low for the voltages and the oscillator to reach stable state. There are 3 parameters to be considered for calculating the time, which are mostly board and PMIC dependent. -1- Time taken by the Oscillator to shut + restart -2- PMIC OTP times -3- Voltage rail ramp times, which inturn depends on the PMIC slew rate and value of the voltage ramp needed. In order to keep the code in u-boot simple, have a way for boards to specify a pre computed time directly using the 'CONFIG_OMAP_PLATFORM_RESET_TIME_MAX_USEC' option. If boards fail to specify the time, use a default as specified by 'CONFIG_DEFAULT_OMAP_RESET_TIME_MAX_USEC' instead. Using the default value translates into some ~22ms and should work in all cases. However in order to avoid this large delay hiding other bugs, its recommended that all boards look at their respective data sheets and specify a pre computed and optimal value using 'CONFIG_OMAP_PLATFORM_RESET_TIME_MAX_USEC' In order to help future board additions to compute this config option value, add a README at doc/README.omap-reset-time which explains how to compute the value. Also update the toplevel README with the additional option and pointers to doc/README.omap-reset-time. 2012-05-15OMAP4460: TPS Ensure SET1 is selected after voltage configurationNishanth Menon
TPS SET0/SET1 register is selected by a GPIO pin on OMAP4460 platforms. Currently we control this pin with a mux configuration as part of boot sequence. Current configuration results in the following voltage waveform: |---------------| (SET1 default 1.4V) | --------(programmed voltage) | <- (This switch happens on mux7,pullup) vdd_mpu(TPS) -----/ (OPP boot voltage) --------- (programmed voltage) vdd_core(TWL6030) -----------------------/ (OPP boot voltage) Problem 1) |<----- Tx ------>| timing violation for a duration Tx close to few milliseconds. Problem 2) voltage of MPU goes beyond spec for even the highest of MPU OPP. By using GPIO as recommended as standard procedure by TI, the sequence changes to: -------- (programmed voltage) vdd_mpu(TPS) ------------/ (Opp boot voltage) --------- (programmed voltage) vdd_core(TWL6030) -------------/ (OPP boot voltage) NOTE: This does not attempt to address OMAP5 - Aneesh please confirm Reported-by: Isabelle Gros <i-gros@ti.com> Reported-by: Jerome Angeloni <j-angeloni@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Nishanth Menon <nm@ti.com>
2012-05-15OMAP3+: Introduce generic logic for OMAP voltage controllerNishanth Menon
OMAP Voltage controller is used to generically talk to PMICs on OMAP3,4,5 over I2C_SR. Instead of replicating code in multiple SoC code, introduce a common voltage controller logic which can be re-used from elsewhere. With this change, we replace setup_sri2c with omap_vc_init which has the same functionality, and replace the voltage scale replication in do_scale_vcore and do_scale_tps62361 with omap_vc_bypass_send_value. omap_vc_bypass_send_value can also now be used with any configuration of PMIC. NOTE: Voltage controller controlling I2C_SR is a write-only data path, so no register read operation can be implemented. 2011-11-15omap4/5: Add support for booting with CH.Sricharan
Configuration header(CH) is 512 byte header attached to an OMAP boot image that will help ROM code to initialize clocks, SDRAM etc and copy U-Boot directly into SDRAM. CH can help us in by-passing SPL and directly boot U-boot, hence it's an alternative for SPL. However, we intend to support both CH and SPL for OMAP4/5. Initialization done through CH is limited and is not equivalent to that done by SPL. So U-Boot has to distinguish between the two cases and handle them accordingly.
