2019-10-01Input: add driver for Silead touchscreensRobert Dolca
This driver adds support for Silead touchscreens. It has been tested with GSL1680 and GSL3680 touch panels. It supports ACPI and device tree enumeration. Screen resolution, the maximum number of fingers supported and firmware name are configurable. Signed-off-by: Robert Dolca <robert.dolca@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Daniel Jansen <djaniboe@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Hans de Goede <hdegoede@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com> Input: silead - remove some dead code buf[0] is an unsigned char. touch_nr is an int. The test for negative here doesn't make sense so I have removed it. Signed-off-by: Dan Carpenter <dan.carpenter@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com> Input: silead - use devm_gpiod_get The silead code is using devm_foo for everything (and does not free any resources). Except that it is using gpiod_get instead of devm_gpiod_get (but is not freeing the gpio_desc), change this to use devm_gpiod_get so that the gpio will be properly released. Signed-off-by: Hans de Goede <hdegoede@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com> Input: silead_gsl1680 - document firmware-name, fix implementation The driver has supported touchscreen-fw-name to specify the firmware to load since it has been merged, but this was omitted from the dt-binding documentation. During review of adding touchscreen-fw-name to the binding documentation it was brought up that there is a standard property name called "firmware-name" for this, which should be used. Since there are no users of touchscreen-fw-name yet, this commit adds documentation of "firmware-name" to the dt-binding documentation and switches the driver over to use this. This commit also makes the driver add a "silead/" prefix to the firmware name from dt before calling request_firmware. That the firmware files are stored under /lib/firmware/silead under Linux is an implementation detail and does not belong in devicetree. Signed-off-by: Hans de Goede <hdegoede@redhat.com> Acked-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com> Input: silead_gsl1680 - use "silead/" prefix for firmware loading The silead touch-controller ICs use a different firmware per digitizer / tablet model. So there are going to be quite a few of then and they really should be under a separate subdir. This commit prefixes the default firmware names with "silead/" just like we are already doing for devicetree specified firmware names. Signed-off-by: Hans de Goede <hdegoede@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com> Input: silead - add OF device ID table The driver doesn't have a struct of_device_id table but supported devices are registered via Device Trees. This is working on the assumption that a I2C device registered via OF will always match a legacy I2C device ID and that the MODALIAS reported will always be of the form i2c:<device>. But this could change in the future so the correct approach is to have an OF device ID table if the devices are registered via OF. As pointed by Hans de Goede, there's no mssl1680 and this is just used in some ACPI systems to identify the gsl1680 chip. So isn't included in the OF device ID table since a DT should use the proper device name instead. Signed-off-by: Javier Martinez Canillas <javier@osg.samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com> Input: back-port silead.c: pos[i] handling/assignment Signed-off-by: Philipp Tomsich <philipp.tomsich@theobroma-systems.com> Input: back-port silead.c: invert_x/y & swap_xy Signed-off-by: Philipp Tomsich <philipp.tomsich@theobroma-systems.com> Input: silead: retry firmware load If we get ENOENT when trying to load the firmware, this can just mean that the rootfs is not mounted yet. Return EPROBE_DEFER so the probe is retried later. To prevent an infinite probe loop when the firmware does not exist at all, the retries are capped to 10. The early (RK_EXCAVATOR_MAIN_V10_20160627) v10 board had some hardware issues, for example, pwm regulator even a small miscalculation by hardware and the emmc can't work on hs400 mode. But there still have someone used the old v10 boards on their hands. Anyway, that should support the old v10 board with this patch. 2019-04-27ARM: 8833/1: Ensure that NEON code always compiles with ClangNathan Chancellor
[ Upstream commit de9c0d49d85dc563549972edc5589d195cd5e859 ] While building arm32 allyesconfig, I ran into the following errors: arch/arm/lib/xor-neon.c:17:2: error: You should compile this file with '-mfloat-abi=softfp -mfpu=neon' In file included from lib/raid6/neon1.c:27: /home/nathan/cbl/prebuilt/lib/clang/8.0.0/include/arm_neon.h:28:2: error: "NEON support not enabled" Building V=1 showed NEON_FLAGS getting passed along to Clang but __ARM_NEON__ was not getting defined. Ultimately, it boils down to Clang only defining __ARM_NEON__ when targeting armv7, rather than armv6k, which is the '-march' value for allyesconfig. >From lib/Basic/Targets/ARM.cpp in the Clang source: // This only gets set when Neon instructions are actually available, unlike // the VFP define, hence the soft float and arch check. This is subtly // different from gcc, we follow the intent which was that it should be set // when Neon instructions are actually available. if ((FPU & NeonFPU) && !SoftFloat && ArchVersion >= 7) { Builder.defineMacro("__ARM_NEON", "1"); Builder.defineMacro("__ARM_NEON__"); // current AArch32 NEON implementations do not support double-precision // floating-point even when it is present in VFP. Builder.defineMacro("__ARM_NEON_FP", "0x" + Twine::utohexstr(HW_FP & ~HW_FP_DP)); } Ard Biesheuvel recommended explicitly adding '-march=armv7-a' at the beginning of the NEON_FLAGS definitions so that __ARM_NEON__ always gets definined by Clang. This doesn't functionally change anything because that code will only run where NEON is supported, which is implicitly armv7. 2019-04-03KVM: Reject device ioctls from processes other than the VM's creatorSean Christopherson
commit ddba91801aeb5c160b660caed1800eb3aef403f8 upstream. KVM's API requires thats ioctls must be issued from the same process that created the VM. In other words, userspace can play games with a VM's file descriptors, e.g. fork(), SCM_RIGHTS, etc..., but only the creator can do anything useful. Explicitly reject device ioctls that are issued by a process other than the VM's creator, and update KVM's API documentation to extend its requirements to device ioctls. 2019-03-11UPSTREAM: usb: gadget: add f_uac1 variant based on a new u_audio apiRuslan Bilovol
This patch adds a new function 'f_uac1' (f_uac1 with virtual "ALSA card") that uses recently created u_audio API. Comparing to legacy f_uac1 function implementation it doesn't require any real Audio codec to be present on the device. In f_uac1 audio streams are simply sinked to and sourced from a virtual ALSA sound card created using u_audio API. Legacy f_uac1 approach is to write audio samples directly to existing ALSA sound card f_uac1 approach is more generic/flexible one - create an ALSA sound card that represents USB Audio function and allows to be used by userspace application that may choose to do whatever it wants with the data received from the USB Host and choose to provide whatever it wants as audio data to the USB Host. f_uac1 also has capture support (gadget->host) thanks to easy implementation via u_audio. By default, capture interface has 48000kHz/2ch configuration, same as playback channel has. f_uac1 descriptors naming convention uses f_uac2 driver naming convention that makes it more common and meaningful. Comparing to f_uac1_legacy, the f_uac1 doesn't have volume/mute functionality. This is because the f_uac1 volume/mute feature unit was dummy implementation since that driver creation (2009) and never had any real volume control or mute functionality, so there is no any difference here. Since f_uac1 functionality, exposed interface to userspace (virtual ALSA card), input parameters are so different comparing to f_uac1_legacy, that there is no any reason to keep them in the same file/module, and separate function was created. g_audio can be built using one of existing UAC functions (f_uac1, f_uac1_legacy or f_uac2) Conflicts: drivers/usb/gadget/Kconfig Change-Id: Ib84198c0fcabccc667ae05e181779f3b984d2141 Signed-off-by: Ruslan Bilovol <ruslan.bilovol@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <felipe.balbi@linux.intel.com> (cherry picked from commit 0591bc2360152f851e29246884805bb77a2c3b9d)

2019-03-11UPSTREAM: usb: gadget: uac2: add req_number as parameterPeter Chen
There are only two requests for uac2, it may not be enough at high loading system which usb interrupt handler can't be serviced on time, then the data will be lost since it is isoc transfer for audio. In this patch, we introduce a parameter for the number for usb request, and the user can override it if current number for request is not enough for his/her use case. Besides, update this parameter for legacy audio gadget and documentation. 2019-03-05ANDROID: overlayfs: override_creds=off option bypass creator_credMark Salyzyn
By default, all access to the upper, lower and work directories is the recorded mounter's MAC and DAC credentials. The incoming accesses are checked against the caller's credentials. If the principles of least privilege are applied, the mounter's credentials might not overlap the credentials of the caller's when accessing the overlayfs filesystem. For example, a file that a lower DAC privileged caller can execute, is MAC denied to the generally higher DAC privileged mounter, to prevent an attack vector. We add the option to turn off override_creds in the mount options; all subsequent operations after mount on the filesystem will be only the caller's credentials. The module boolean parameter and mount option override_creds is also added as a presence check for this "feature", existence of /sys/module/overlay/parameters/override_creds. It was not always this way. Circa 4.6 there was no recorded mounter's credentials, instead privileged access to upper or work directories were temporarily increased to perform the operations. The MAC (selinux) policies were caller's in all cases. override_creds=off partially returns us to this older access model minus the insecure temporary credential increases. This is to permit use in a system with non-overlapping security models for each executable including the agent that mounts the overlayfs filesystem. In Android this is the case since init, which performs the mount operations, has a minimal MAC set of privileges to reduce any attack surface, and services that use the content have a different set of MAC privileges (eg: read, for vendor labelled configuration, execute for vendor libraries and modules). The caveats are not a problem in the Android usage model, however they should be fixed for completeness and for general use in time. 2019-02-08inet: frags: break the 2GB limit for frags storageEric Dumazet
commit 3e67f106f619dcfaf6f4e2039599bdb69848c714 upstream. Some users are willing to provision huge amounts of memory to be able to perform reassembly reasonnably well under pressure. Current memory tracking is using one atomic_t and integers. Switch to atomic_long_t so that 64bit arches can use more than 2GB, without any cost for 32bit arches. Note that this patch avoids an overflow error, if high_thresh was set to ~2GB, since this test in inet_frag_alloc() was never true : if (... || frag_mem_limit(nf) > nf->high_thresh) Tested: $ echo 16000000000 >/proc/sys/net/ipv4/ipfrag_high_thresh <frag DDOS> $ grep FRAG /proc/net/sockstat FRAG: inuse 14705885 memory 16000002880 $ nstat -n ; sleep 1 ; nstat | grep Reas IpReasmReqds 3317150 0.0 IpReasmFails 3317112 0.0 Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2019-02-08inet: frags: use rhashtables for reassembly unitsEric Dumazet
commit 648700f76b03b7e8149d13cc2bdb3355035258a9 upstream. Some applications still rely on IP fragmentation, and to be fair linux reassembly unit is not working under any serious load. It uses static hash tables of 1024 buckets, and up to 128 items per bucket (!!!) A work queue is supposed to garbage collect items when host is under memory pressure, and doing a hash rebuild, changing seed used in hash computations. This work queue blocks softirqs for up to 25 ms when doing a hash rebuild, occurring every 5 seconds if host is under fire. Then there is the problem of sharing this hash table for all netns. It is time to switch to rhashtables, and allocate one of them per netns to speedup netns dismantle, since this is a critical metric these days. Lookup is now using RCU. A followup patch will even remove the refcount hold/release left from prior implementation and save a couple of atomic operations. Before this patch, 16 cpus (16 RX queue NIC) could not handle more than 1 Mpps frags DDOS. After the patch, I reach 9 Mpps without any tuning, and can use up to 2GB of storage for the fragments (exact number depends on frags being evicted after timeout) $ grep FRAG /proc/net/sockstat FRAG: inuse 1966916 memory 2140004608 A followup patch will change the limits for 64bit arches. 2019-02-04f2fs: run discard jobs when put_superJaegeuk Kim
When we umount f2fs, we need to avoid long delay due to discard commands, which is actually taking tens of seconds, if storage is very slow on UNMAP. So, this patch introduces timeout-based work on it. By default, let me give 5 seconds for discard. Reviewed-by: Chao Yu <yuchao0@huawei.com> Signed-off-by: Jaegeuk Kim <jaegeuk@kernel.org>
