2016-10-27genetlink: mark families as __ro_after_initJohannes Berg
Now genl_register_family() is the only thing (other than the users themselves, perhaps, but I didn't find any doing that) writing to the family struct. In all families that I found, genl_register_family() is only called from __init functions (some indirectly, in which case I've add __init annotations to clarifly things), so all can actually be marked __ro_after_init. This protects the data structure from accidental corruption. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2016-10-27genetlink: statically initialize familiesJohannes Berg
Instead of providing macros/inline functions to initialize the families, make all users initialize them statically and get rid of the macros. This reduces the kernel code size by about 1.6k on x86-64 (with allyesconfig). Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2016-10-27genetlink: no longer support using static family IDsJohannes Berg
Static family IDs have never really been used, the only use case was the workaround I introduced for those users that assumed their family ID was also their multicast group ID. Additionally, because static family IDs would never be reserved by the generic netlink code, using a relatively low ID would only work for built-in families that can be registered immediately after generic netlink is started, which is basically only the control family (apart from the workaround code, which I also had to add code for so it would reserve those IDs) Thus, anything other than GENL_ID_GENERATE is flawed and luckily not used except in the cases I mentioned. Move those workarounds into a few lines of code, and then get rid of GENL_ID_GENERATE entirely, making it more robust. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2016-06-27netlabel: Implement CALIPSO config functions for SMACK.Huw Davies
SMACK uses similar functions to control CIPSO, these are the equivalent functions for CALIPSO and follow exactly the same semantics. int netlbl_cfg_calipso_add(struct calipso_doi *doi_def, struct netlbl_audit *audit_info) Adds a CALIPSO doi. void netlbl_cfg_calipso_del(u32 doi, struct netlbl_audit *audit_info) Removes a CALIPSO doi. int netlbl_cfg_calipso_map_add(u32 doi, const char *domain, const struct in6_addr *addr, const struct in6_addr *mask, struct netlbl_audit *audit_info) Creates a mapping between a domain and a CALIPSO doi. If addr and mask are non-NULL this creates an address-selector type mapping. This also extends netlbl_cfg_map_del() to remove IPv6 address-selector mappings. 2016-06-27calipso: Add a label cache.Huw Davies
This works in exactly the same way as the CIPSO label cache. The idea is to allow the lsm to cache the result of a secattr lookup so that it doesn't need to perform the lookup for every skbuff. It introduces two sysctl controls: calipso_cache_enable - enables/disables the cache. calipso_cache_bucket_size - sets the size of a cache bucket. 2016-06-27netlabel: Pass a family parameter to netlbl_skbuff_err().Huw Davies
This makes it possible to route the error to the appropriate labelling engine. CALIPSO is far less verbose than CIPSO when encountering a bogus packet, so there is no need for a CALIPSO error handler. Signed-off-by: Huw Davies <huw@codeweavers.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Moore <paul@paul-moore.com>
2016-06-27calipso: Allow the lsm to label the skbuff directly.Huw Davies
In some cases, the lsm needs to add the label to the skbuff directly. A NF_INET_LOCAL_OUT IPv6 hook is added to selinux to match the IPv4 behaviour. This allows selinux to label the skbuffs that it requires. Signed-off-by: Huw Davies <huw@codeweavers.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Moore <paul@paul-moore.com>
2016-06-27calipso: Allow request sockets to be relabelled by the lsm.Huw Davies
Request sockets need to have a label that takes into account the incoming connection as well as their parent's label. This is used for the outgoing SYN-ACK and for their child full-socket. Signed-off-by: Huw Davies <huw@codeweavers.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Moore <paul@paul-moore.com>
2016-06-27calipso: Set the calipso socket label to match the secattr.Huw Davies
CALIPSO is a hop-by-hop IPv6 option. A lot of this patch is based on the equivalent CISPO code. The main difference is due to manipulating the options in the hop-by-hop header. Signed-off-by: Huw Davies <huw@codeweavers.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Moore <paul@paul-moore.com>

2016-06-27netlabel: Initial support for the CALIPSO netlink protocol.Huw Davies
CALIPSO is a packet labelling protocol for IPv6 which is very similar to CIPSO. It is specified in RFC 5570. Much of the code is based on the current CIPSO code. This adds support for adding passthrough-type CALIPSO DOIs through the NLBL_CALIPSO_C_ADD command. It requires attributes: NLBL_CALIPSO_A_TYPE which must be CALIPSO_MAP_PASS. NLBL_CALIPSO_A_DOI. In passthrough mode the CALIPSO engine will map MLS secattr levels and categories directly to the packet label. At this stage, the major difference between this and the CIPSO code is that IPv6 may be compiled as a module. To allow for this the CALIPSO functions are registered at module init time. 2016-06-27netlabel: Add an address family to domain hash entries.Huw Davies
The reason is to allow different labelling protocols for different address families with the same domain. This requires the addition of an address family attribute in the netlink communication protocol. It is used in several messages: NLBL_MGMT_C_ADD and NLBL_MGMT_C_ADDDEF take it as an optional attribute for the unlabelled protocol. It may be one of AF_INET, AF_INET6 or AF_UNSPEC (to specify both address families). If it is missing, it defaults to AF_UNSPEC. NLBL_MGMT_C_LISTALL and NLBL_MGMT_C_LISTDEF return it as part of the enumeration of each item. Addtionally, it may be sent to LISTDEF to specify which address family to return. 2016-06-09netlabel: handle sparse category maps in netlbl_catmap_getlong()Paul Moore
In cases where the category bitmap is sparse enough that gaps exist between netlbl_lsm_catmap structs, callers to netlbl_catmap_getlong() could find themselves prematurely ending their search through the category bitmap. Further, the methods used to calculate the 'idx' and 'off' values were incorrect for bitmaps this large. This patch changes the netlbl_catmap_getlong() behavior so that it always skips over gaps and calculates the index and offset values correctly. Signed-off-by: Paul Moore <paul@paul-moore.com>
2016-06-06netlabel: add address family checks to netlbl_{sock,req}_delattr()Paul Moore
It seems risky to always rely on the caller to ensure the socket's address family is correct before passing it to the NetLabel kAPI, especially since we see at least one LSM which didn't. 2015-02-11cipso: don't use IPCB() to locate the CIPSO IP optionPaul Moore
Using the IPCB() macro to get the IPv4 options is convenient, but unfortunately NetLabel often needs to examine the CIPSO option outside of the scope of the IP layer in the stack. While historically IPCB() worked above the IP layer, due to the inclusion of the inet_skb_param struct at the head of the {tcp,udp}_skb_cb structs, recent commit 971f10ec ("tcp: better TCP_SKB_CB layout to reduce cache line misses") reordered the tcp_skb_cb struct and invalidated this IPCB() trick. This patch fixes the problem by creating a new function, cipso_v4_optptr(), which locates the CIPSO option inside the IP header without calling IPCB(). Unfortunately, this isn't as fast as a simple lookup so some additional tweaks were made to limit the use of this new function. The functions "cipso_v4_doi_putdef" and "kfree" could be called in some cases by the netlbl_mgmt_add_common() function during error handling even if the passed variables contained still a null pointer. * This implementation detail could be improved by adjustments for jump labels. * Let us return immediately after the first failed function call according to the current Linux coding style convention. * Let us delete also an unnecessary check for the variable "entry" there. 2015-01-18netlink: make nlmsg_end() and genlmsg_end() voidJohannes Berg
Contrary to common expectations for an "int" return, these functions return only a positive value -- if used correctly they cannot even return 0 because the message header will necessarily be in the skb. This makes the very common pattern of if (genlmsg_end(...) < 0) { ... } be a whole bunch of dead code. Many places also simply do return nlmsg_end(...); and the caller is expected to deal with it. This also commonly (at least for me) causes errors, because it is very common to write if (my_function(...)) /* error condition */ and if my_function() does "return nlmsg_end()" this is of course wrong. Additionally, there's not a single place in the kernel that actually needs the message length returned, and if anyone needs it later then it'll be very easy to just use skb->len there. Remove this, and make the functions void. This removes a bunch of dead code as described above. The patch adds lines because I did - return nlmsg_end(...); + nlmsg_end(...); + return 0; I could have preserved all the function's return values by returning skb->len, but instead I've audited all the places calling the affected functions and found that none cared. A few places actually compared the return value with <= 0 in dump functionality, but that could just be changed to < 0 with no change in behaviour, so I opted for the more efficient version. One instance of the error I've made numerous times now is also present in net/phonet/pn_netlink.c in the route_dumpit() function - it didn't check for <0 or <=0 and thus broke out of the loop every single time. I've preserved this since it will (I think) have caused the messages to userspace to be formatted differently with just a single message for every SKB returned to userspace. It's possible that this isn't needed for the tools that actually use this, but I don't even know what they are so couldn't test that changing this behaviour would be acceptable. 2014-08-01netlabel: shorter names for the NetLabel catmap funcs/structsPaul Moore
Historically the NetLabel LSM secattr catmap functions and data structures have had very long names which makes a mess of the NetLabel code and anyone who uses NetLabel. 2014-08-01netlabel: fix the horribly broken catmap functionsPaul Moore
The NetLabel secattr catmap functions, and the SELinux import/export glue routines, were broken in many horrible ways and the SELinux glue code fiddled with the NetLabel catmap structures in ways that we probably shouldn't allow. At some point this "worked", but that was likely due to a bit of dumb luck and sub-par testing (both inflicted by yours truly). This patch corrects these problems by basically gutting the code in favor of something less obtuse and restoring the NetLabel abstractions in the SELinux catmap glue code. Everything is working now, and if it decides to break itself in the future this code will be much easier to debug than the code it replaces. One noteworthy side effect of the changes is that it is no longer necessary to allocate a NetLabel catmap before calling one of the NetLabel APIs to set a bit in the catmap. NetLabel will automatically allocate the catmap nodes when needed, resulting in less allocations when the lowest bit is greater than 255 and less code in the LSMs. Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Reported-by: Christian Evans <frodox@zoho.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Moore <pmoore@redhat.com> Tested-by: Casey Schaufler <casey@schaufler-ca.com>
2014-08-01netlabel: fix a problem when setting bits below the previously lowest bitPaul Moore
The NetLabel category (catmap) functions have a problem in that they assume categories will be set in an increasing manner, e.g. the next category set will always be larger than the last. Unfortunately, this is not a valid assumption and could result in problems when attempting to set categories less than the startbit in the lowest catmap node. In some cases kernel panics and other nasties can result. This patch corrects the problem by checking for this and allocating a new catmap node instance and placing it at the front of the list. 2013-11-19genetlink: only pass array to genl_register_family_with_ops()Johannes Berg
As suggested by David Miller, make genl_register_family_with_ops() a macro and pass only the array, evaluating ARRAY_SIZE() in the macro, this is a little safer. The openvswitch has some indirection, assing ops/n_ops directly in that code. 2013-08-02netlabel: use domain based selectors when address based selectors are not ↵Paul Moore
available NetLabel has the ability to selectively assign network security labels to outbound traffic based on either the LSM's "domain" (different for each LSM), the network destination, or a combination of both. Depending on the type of traffic, local or forwarded, and the type of traffic selector, domain or address based, different hooks are used to label the traffic; the goal being minimal overhead. Unfortunately, there is a bug such that a system using NetLabel domain based traffic selectors does not correctly label outbound local traffic that is not assigned to a socket. The issue is that in these cases the associated NetLabel hook only looks at the address based selectors and not the domain based selectors. This patch corrects this by checking both the domain and address based selectors so that the correct labeling is applied, regardless of the configuration type. In order to acomplish this fix, this patch also simplifies some of the NetLabel domainhash structures to use a more common outbound traffic mapping type: struct netlbl_dommap_def. This simplifies some of the code in this patch and paves the way for further simplifications in the future. Signed-off-by: Paul Moore <pmoore@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-05-19netlabel: improve domain mapping validationPaul Moore
The net/netlabel/netlabel_domainhash.c:netlbl_domhsh_add() function does not properly validate new domain hash entries resulting in potential problems when an administrator attempts to add an invalid entry. One such problem, as reported by Vlad Halilov, is a kernel BUG (found in netlabel_domainhash.c:netlbl_domhsh_audit_add()) when adding an IPv6 outbound mapping with a CIPSO configuration. This patch corrects this problem by adding the necessary validation code to netlbl_domhsh_add() via the newly created netlbl_domhsh_validate() function. Ideally this patch should also be pushed to the currently active -stable trees. 2013-03-08netlabel: fix build problems when CONFIG_IPV6=nPaul Moore
My last patch to solve a problem where the static/fallback labels were not fully displayed resulted in build problems when IPv6 was disabled. This patch resolves the IPv6 build problems; sorry for the screw-up. Please queue for -stable or simply merge with the previous patch. 2013-03-07netlabel: correctly list all the static label mappingsPaul Moore
When we have a large number of static label mappings that spill across the netlink message boundary we fail to properly save our state in the netlink_callback struct which causes us to repeat the same listings. This patch fixes this problem by saving the state correctly between calls to the NetLabel static label netlink "dumpit" routines. Signed-off-by: Paul Moore <pmoore@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Pull networking changes from David Miller: 1) GRE now works over ipv6, from Dmitry Kozlov. 2) Make SCTP more network namespace aware, from Eric Biederman. 3) TEAM driver now works with non-ethernet devices, from Jiri Pirko. 4) Make openvswitch network namespace aware, from Pravin B Shelar. 5) IPV6 NAT implementation, from Patrick McHardy. 6) Server side support for TCP Fast Open, from Jerry Chu and others. 7) Packet BPF filter supports MOD and XOR, from Eric Dumazet and Daniel Borkmann. 8) Increate the loopback default MTU to 64K, from Eric Dumazet. 9) Use a per-task rather than per-socket page fragment allocator for outgoing networking traffic. This benefits processes that have very many mostly idle sockets, which is quite common. From Eric Dumazet. 10) Use up to 32K for page fragment allocations, with fallbacks to smaller sizes when higher order page allocations fail. Benefits are a) less segments for driver to process b) less calls to page allocator c) less waste of space. From Eric Dumazet. 11) Allow GRO to be used on GRE tunnels, from Eric Dumazet. 12) VXLAN device driver, one way to handle VLAN issues such as the limitation of 4096 VLAN IDs yet still have some level of isolation. From Stephen Hemminger. 13) As usual there is a large boatload of driver changes, with the scale perhaps tilted towards the wireless side this time around. Fix up various fairly trivial conflicts, mostly caused by the user namespace changes. * git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next: (1012 commits) hyperv: Add buffer for extended info after the RNDIS response message. hyperv: Report actual status in receive completion packet hyperv: Remove extra allocated space for recv_pkt_list elements hyperv: Fix page buffer handling in rndis_filter_send_request() hyperv: Fix the missing return value in rndis_filter_set_packet_filter() hyperv: Fix the max_xfer_size in RNDIS initialization vxlan: put UDP socket in correct namespace vxlan: Depend on CONFIG_INET sfc: Fix the reported priorities of different filter types sfc: Remove EFX_FILTER_FLAG_RX_OVERRIDE_IP sfc: Fix loopback self-test with separate_tx_channels=1 sfc: Fix MCDI structure field lookup sfc: Add parentheses around use of bitfield macro arguments sfc: Fix null function pointer in efx_sriov_channel_type vxlan: virtual extensible lan igmp: export symbol ip_mc_leave_group netlink: add attributes to fdb interface tg3: unconditionally select HWMON support when tg3 is enabled. 2012-09-17userns: Convert the audit loginuid to be a kuidEric W. Biederman
Always store audit loginuids in type kuid_t. Print loginuids by converting them into uids in the appropriate user namespace, and then printing the resulting uid. Modify audit_get_loginuid to return a kuid_t. Modify audit_set_loginuid to take a kuid_t. Modify /proc/<pid>/loginuid on read to convert the loginuid into the user namespace of the opener of the file. Modify /proc/<pid>/loginud on write to convert the loginuid rom the user namespace of the opener of the file. 2012-09-10netlink: Rename pid to portid to avoid confusionEric W. Biederman
It is a frequent mistake to confuse the netlink port identifier with a process identifier. Try to reduce this confusion by renaming fields that hold port identifiers portid instead of pid. I have carefully avoided changing the structures exported to userspace to avoid changing the userspace API. I have successfully built an allyesconfig kernel with this change. Signed-off-by: "Eric W. 2012-03-22netlabel: use GFP flags from caller instead of GFP_ATOMICDan Carpenter
This function takes a GFP flags as a parameter, but they are never used. We don't take a lock in this function so there is no reason to prefer GFP_ATOMIC over the caller's GFP flags. There is only one caller, cipso_v4_map_cat_rng_ntoh(), and it passes GFP_ATOMIC as the GFP flags so this doesn't change how the code works. It's just a cleanup.
